For those
of you not yet familiar with Nancy ’s
work, we highly suggest you check out her entire backlist, but for today, let’s get you caught up on the amazing
MOONLIGHT series…
“Masked by Moonlight”
MOONLIGHT Book #1:
Homicide detective Charlotte Caissie
is dedicated to bringing down the crime boss responsible for her father’s
murder. Using Jimmy Legere’s right hand man is a dangerous gamble, not
just because of his ruthless reputation as more monster than man, but because her
feelings for her mysterious and irresistible enemy are … complicated.
There’s just something about Max.
Rescued from the swamps as a child,
Max Savoie owes Jimmy Legere his life. Existing silently in his rescuer’s
shadow, he heeds only one voice. Until Charlotte Caissie awakens his
emotions and tests his loyalties. Forced to step outside his cautious
rules to save her, he risks more than his heart . . . he risks exposing his
dark secret.
Working together means facing
the truth about who and what they are, and what they need from one
another. If Max is the murderer she seeks, Cee Cee might be his next
victim. She can’t afford to trust any man. Good thing Max isn’t one.
“Chased by Moonlight”
MOONLIGHT Book #2:
Things get more complicated for Cee
Cee when she’s appointed lead investigator in a high-profile murder that points
to her preternatural lover. To prove him innocent, she must distance herself
from her prime suspect, but tangled emotions don’t make it easy for her to stay
away. And neither does Max.
Left in charge of a criminal empire
and protector of a clan of shadowy shape-shifters, Max walks a precarious
line. Can he believe the cunning stranger who claims he can teach Max the
things he needs to know to stay alive—a conman who would betray anyone to make
a profit—a man who may be a ruthless killer?
Pulled between her desire for
justice and the man she loves, the harder Cee Cee fights to clear Max’s name,
the more he pushes her away. He’s protecting a dark truth that could blow
the top off her case. And that means hiding his motives and lying to a woman
who values truth above all. The woman who can save him . . . if he’ll let her.
“Captured by Moonlight”
MOONLIGHT Book #3:
A mysterious death begins a
dangerous chain of events, forcing choices that mean no turning back as Max’s
past catches up to him. But as the unexpected discovery of a family
thought lost to him threatens the existence of Max’s paranormal world, his
awakening senses strain the bond he shares with Detective Charlotte
Caissie.
Driven by instincts he can’t
control, Max fights the need to claim his human mate. How can he protect her
when she’s not safe with him? She’s strong enough to keep his secrets, but can
she survive the test of his love?
Separating business from pleasure
just got more difficult. To have Max, Cee Cee must face her greatest fears by
accepting who and what he is . . . someone deadly, unnatural and outside the
law she serves. Loving Max Savoie isn’t easy, but holding onto him could prove
fatal.
“Bound by Moonlight”
MOONLIGHT Book #4:
Detective Charlotte Caissie is
suddenly sharing drawer space and making media news with her shape-shifter lover
Max Savoie. Knowing the reformed mobster is determined to be accepted by her
peers, how can she ask him to return to his criminal roots to help her solve a
complex case
Going undercover to find the vicious
serial killer who kidnapped a colleague’s daughter, Cee Cee is caught between
the partner whose integrity she relies on and her fiercely possessive lover. In
calling on Max to use his preternatural talents to aide a hated enemy, she
crosses a line that strains their relationship to its limits.
With his secret spreading beyond
those he can trust, Max is forced to make dangerous alliances to protect his
family and his clan. The only certainty he has is his love for his human mate,
until the loyalties that define them threaten to divide them forever.

Police Department, Detective Silas MacCreedy has a hidden agenda: to secure his
clan’s place once again in the Shifter hierarchy. What he didn’t
count on was stumbling upon a sexy assassin who could shred his best intentions
and lead him into a dangerous dance that threatens to engage his heart.

a man beg—for his life. But she has no clue how to fight her attraction to the
fiercely intense detective who seems determined to get in her way, both
professionally and intimately.
When emotional attachments to the
past and an unexpected glimpse of a different future have her questioning her
deadly purpose, Nica must discover the truth about her secret abilities in
order to free herself from the forces that control her. But that freedom comes
with a price—trusting those she’s been ordered to eliminate.
“Seeker of Shadows”

His
town.
Susanna
Duchamps came to
Her
rules.
Shifter
club owner Jacques LaRoche is fiercely protective of his freedom. Stripped of
his memories of a former life, he longs for the mate he lost . . . until the
enticingly familiar presence of a mysterious stranger from the north ignites a
primal, nearly uncontrollable need to release the untamed beast inside him.

last chance.

dares not tell Jacques it was she who sacrificed his past and her future years
ago, to protect him and the secret she carried. But her arrival in New Orleans comes with
consequences. When a bloody confrontation erupts between their enemy clans,
will she betray her lover once again—or throw her own life on the line so they
can finish what they started?
“Betrayed by Shadows”
MOONLIGHT Book #7:
COMING 12/17/12!
Balancing a criminal empire and a preternatural clan war, reluctant
front man Giles St. Clair doesn’t need a problem like Brigit MacCreedy . . .
How much trouble can the head-strong and manipulative Shifter beauty get into
in two weeks? Plenty when her schemes range from kidnapping to fleeing the
retribution of her dead lover’s relatives.
With her family’s lives on the line, Brigit is willing to do whatever it takes to save them. The only thing standing in her way is an immovable stone wall of a man she can’t bully or beguile . . . a human, no less, who has promised to protect her from the secrets and dangers she conceals.
Risking her own safety gets complicated when an honorable and annoyingly desirable man puts himself between her and her powerful enemies in a battle he can’t win in this Taming of the Shrew meets Shifter Goodfellas on the bayou tale of consequences, redemption and finding love in all the wrong places.

Your dynamic duo once again had the pleasure of sitting down with
2 incredibly fascinating individuals for an interview. This time, Giles St.
Clair and Brigit MacCreedy of Nancy Gideon’s “Betrayed by Shadows”.
Check out the transcript of our lovely night out with the couple
below:
Sitting around the table in an adorably quaint
little Cajun/Creole restaurant, we sipped wine with Giles and Brigit while
waiting for our food to arrive; food that smelled absolutely heavenly and was
making our stomachs rumble embarrassingly.
Giles had told us earlier that this was one of
Max’s favorite restaurants and just knowing that made us even more excited to
be there. We assumed the food would be
second to none, and that we would be treated like royalty. We assumed correctly. J
Chelle: (raises glass in a half toast) I just wanted to thank you both again for
taking time out of your busy schedules to meet with us tonight. We really appreciate it!
Carla: Yes, thank you both. Our readers will be thrilled to get to know
you a little bit better. (smiles)
Giles: Our pleasure.
Brigit: Always looking for a reason to
dress up and come into the city.
Chelle: While I’d love to just sit and chat with you
two over dinner, I suppose we should probably actually ask some questions.
(laughs) Giles, what’s it like working
for Max?
Giles: I guess you could say we got off on the wrong
foot. He was threatening to eat my
eyeballs on toast. (laughs then grows serious)
I believed him. Can’t say I had
much to do with him until after Jimmy died.
Now Jimmy, he was a hard piece of work. No soul to that man, and I owed
him mine. Wasn’t sure what to think Max inheriting
his empire but he stepped up and took care of all of us. He took everything
Jimmy built on violence and turned it toward legal. Bet the ole mobster’s twisting in his crypt
over that. (smiles) Max is a good
man. Keeps his word. Wants to do good
things for the city and for his clan.
Got to admire someone who’ll put himself on the line like that for the
sake of others. Made me remember what it
was like to have dignity and a cause to believe in. And now I’m going what I
can to hold it together for him. Me and
Bree’s brother, Silas.
Carla: How’s your brother enjoying married life
Brigit? How are you and the new
sister-in-law getting along?
Brigit: He’s obnoxiously happy. I didn’t see it coming. I thought he had a future planned out with
our cousin Kendra. It’s always been just
the three of us. They were perfect for each other. That was my idea of a
happily-ever-after. Who knew he’d fall
for some shady assassin who was out to kill him and leave the female of his
dreams hanging in the wind. I don’t know what to do about Kendra now, all
alone, living with those Terriot animals . . .
(breaks off, slightly teary eyed until Giles presses her hand). How do Nica and I get along? Since Silas is the only thing we have in
common, I can’t see us as BFFs. But I can’t see us rolling around trying to
tear each other’s hair out.
Giles: (muttering)
I can. (winces as Brigit swats
him)
Chelle: What was it like growing up in the Bayou
Giles?
Giles: Its home to me - where my roots are. You can take the boy out of the swamps and
teach him to lose the accent, but you can’t take the bayou out of the boy. We
have certain ways of looking at things. We don’t like outsiders coming in, telling
us what to do. We’re all about kin, protecting our kind and our way of life. Folks hold to the old superstitions, probably
because we see them prowling outside our doors at night. I knew shape-shifters
were more than just stories long before I met Max. Mostly we left them alone and they left us
alone. Mostly. Never figured I’d be
thinking of them as family, though. (smiles
at Brigit)
Carla: Brigit, you have a very special gift. Can you tell us a little bit more about it
and explain how certain shifters are born with special abilities like you and
your brother, etc…
Brigit: We were raised a certain way,
believing certain things - a lot like
Giles’s people. We don’t question. We just accept. Silas and I always knew we were different,
and different can be dangerous. We
thought it was just us until we met Savoie . . . and Nica. She can shift shape . . . our females can’t
do that, but she can. They can do things with their minds that only our enemies
in the north are supposed to be able to do. Silas told me about a movement here
in New Orleans to rise up against the Chosen in the north, to explore and
strengthen our gifts. I don’t want him
involved in that. Look what happened to
Savoie . . . (she looks at Giles, frowning) I don’t want anything to happen to
you.
Giles: I’m just, as you continually remind
me, a frail human. What kind of threat would I be to them?
Brigit: You helped snatch Savoie right out
from under their noses. I think that
puts you right on the front line of their hit parade. You and my brother are
handling all the affairs for both that mobster you worked for and this clan of
misfits. Do the math, Giles. Don’t pretend you can’t do percentages.
Giles: If they bang me up, you can put me
back together.
Brigit: (still frowning)
It’s not that easy. It doesn’t always work
that way. (explains to Chelle and Carla) My gift - our talents, Silas’s and mine – they’re not
something we use unless we have to. They
can end up damaging us instead of helping others. Silas is a Reader. He can look into someone’s mind, see their
thoughts, feel what they’re feeling. It’s dangerous. From what I heard, rescuing Nica from her
controllers in the north almost killed him.
I can heal. I found out
by accident and it’s not something I advertise.
Shifters aren’t supposed to have talents. These things we can do . . . only the Chosen
are supposed to be able to do them. If
you want a better explanation, you should ask that bartender’s mate, that
scientist. She’s one of them. She knows
how some of us are able to do the impossible and why her people are so eager to
experiment on us or kill us to keep the truth quiet and use it to their
advantage. Different is dangerous.
Especially now.
Chelle: Speaking of healing, how is Max doing?
Giles: Improving. After what those monsters did to him to erase
his memories, I didn’t think we’d ever get any part of him back. He recognizes
me. He was able to give us some clues as to how we might be able to restore
those things they stripped from his mind.
Until that happens, Silas and I are trying to shore things up while
pretending everything’s fine.
Brigit: I don’t know why you have to be
involved. This isn’t your fight.
Giles: Yes, it is. I owe Max.
He gave me back something I thought I’d lost. And now I have you to think about and your
family. That’s about as involved as it gets.
Carla: Giles, how are you feeling after
making contact with the family again after having been separated for so long?
Giles: They say you can’t go home again. I’ve believed that for a long time. Missing
them has been like the phantom pain of a severed limb. I lost part of me when I lost them. I didn’t think I could ever be forgiven for
the choices I made. Now . . . we’ll see.
Baby steps. It’s not like they
weren’t hiding some huge need to know things from me, too. I didn’t want to pull them into my
troubles. Still don’t. But family has a way of pushing in where it
doesn’t belong even if it could get them killed.
Chelle: We love to ask our couples what’s the first
thing that drew each of you to each other and what’s the most special thing
about the other now that you’ve been together for awhile?
Giles: The way she looked in that green
dress, and now . . . it’s knowing how
she looks out of it. (fends off the jab of her elbow, laughing) Oh, c’mon
Bree. It’s not like you don’t know how
you look or the affect you have on we dumb male animals.
Brigit: I thought you were just a
dumb animal . . . and a Human, at that.
Giles: (smiling) So, what changed your
mind?
Brigit: Seeing the way you were with the
boy, Oscar and his mother. It made me
wish I had someone to protect and care for me the same way.
Giles: And now that you do?
Brigit: I feel safe letting you see the
real me.
Giles: (grinning) You know I can’t resist a bad girl with a lot
of secrets. It’s that hero complex. And
I like knowing I’m the only one who sees the real you. In or out of that dress. (soflty) I never expected anyone else to have
my back or accept the things of done, but you did and you still do. That makes
me one lucky bastard.
Carla: Honestly, you may not be a shifter
Giles but you are more than Alpha enough.
(smiles and winks at Brigit) What’s the strangest thing about living
among and working with those who are, well… super-human?
Giles: (laughs) You sure don’t want to get on
their bad side. They’re really no different that you and me. They want a place to belong, a family to
raise, work to do, the ability to protect their own. I guess the strangest
thing is not caring about the differences.
What about you, Bree?
Brigit: I think you’re super-human, otherwise I
wouldn’t put up with you. I’m not as
fond of the Uprights as you are of us.
They’ve yet to change my mind about that.
Chelle: Things with the organization and clans have
changed so very much over the last several years with the change in leadership,
etc. Where do you guys think that things are going now? Can you tell us what the new focus might be
and how each of you will play a role – if at all?
Brigit: Silas thinks Savoie is the
Promised One who’ll pull all the clans together so we can stand against the
Chosen. I think that’s naïve. I’ve been up close and personal with the
Guedrys and the Terriots and they don’t play well with others. I think our biggest enemies are those who
might soon be standing beside us.
Giles: I don’t see us as naïve as much as
optimistic. You’ve never seen Max at his
best, talked to him, listened to him.
You want to believe he’s everything they say he is. And your brother Silas is a smart guy. He’s
not going to let the other clans get out of hand. I think once they hold a summit, they’ll see
together is the only way to survive.
Brigit: Rueben Guedry and Cale Terriot
here in New Orleans. That’s like inviting
an earthquake and a hurricane for a visit at the same time. You’d better make sure we have good insurance
coverage.
Giles: I think we have the Guedrys under
control, with your help, and your cousin Kendra seems to be doing her part in
Reno.
Brigit: The Terriots are brutal, dangerous
beasts. I don’t like them and I don’t
trust them. And I don’t like the idea of
Kendra anywhere near them . . . but her presence has managed to keep the peace.
For now.
Giles: But wouldn’t you want them with you in
a fight?
Carla: Any immediate plans to follow in
your brother’s footsteps, Brigit, and take that big walk down the aisle?
Chelle: (takes a sip of wine) Why Brigit,
Carla? I’d kinda like to hear what Giles
has to say about that too. (laughs)
Brigit: Well, I am kind of under his
protection already.
Giles: You say that like being under me is a
bad thing. (grins)
Brigit: (ignoring him) This marriage business is a human
tradition. We Shifters mate and bond to
one another. It’s for life. Marriage seems a lot less . . . permanent.
Giles: Sorry.
Can’t change into anything but a husband.
Brigit: We’ll discuss it. I do like the idea of expensive rings . . .
As we laugh together and interject additional
small talk, the waiters arrive with our food, and OMG, we are absolutely drooling!
Chelle: (settles napkin on lap) Wow, this looks and smells amazing! Before we start digging in and can no longer
talk without our mouths being full, is there anything that you’d like us to
take back to our readers?
Giles: We’ve just scratched the surface
here. Life with Brigit is . . .
complicated. You can get a little bit
better idea by watching our YouTube video at http://nancygideon.blogspot.com/p/book-trailers.html
. Everyone has one of those these
days. Or you can go to our author’s
website to peak behind the scenes for excerpts and more on the Shifter
mythology at http://www.nancygideon.com/moonlight-home.html. BETRAYED BY SHADOWS - that’s what she’s
calling our story – is released tomorrow, 12-17-12, so with one click on the
links above, you can be reading it.
Unlike Brigit, I’m always looking for a bargain, and for the next four
week, BETRAYED BY SHADOWS will be available for only $1.99.
Brigit: I think they’re selling our story too cheaply.
Giles: (laughs) Watch for the part about the
green dress . . .
Brigit: Enough about the dress
already! If you want to know more, ask
our author. She’ll be chatting with
these lovely ladies today. They were
nice enough to put the information below.
And watch for PRINCE OF SHADOWS on 5-27-13 – that’s our author’s
birthday, I hear. I’m anxious to find
out how things turn out with Kendra and my least favorite person, Cale
Terriot. He’d better not hurt her.
(squeezes Giles’s hand) I understand we’ll be in it, too. I hope I’m kicking Cale’s ass.
Giles: Like I said, don’t get on their bad
side.
Carla: O.K. (raises glass) Then I would like to propose a toast… To new
friends and bright futures. (smiles) And
maybe a little butt kicking.
We all clink glasses, take a sip of the
decadent wine that Giles ordered up for us, and dig in to the incredible feast.
