welcome Stephanie Tyler back to our sites today!
Stephanie is a bestselling writer of over 20 amazing titles. We
say “writer” and not author because that is what she calls herself. Some may
think that’s strange, but we get it. It’s the part she loves, it’s what she
does, and therefore makes her what she is. She says she was born a writer, that
she always knew it’s what she wanted to do, and took every step necessary to
make it happen. She double majored in English Lit and Creative Writing, went
back to get her Masters in English Lit and Secondary English Education, and
even went so far as to get ½ of her PhD. She worked as a manager in a book
store while going to school, and ended up teaching both at the middle school
and college level afterward until family took precedence. Once that happened,
she was able to really start writing, no longer having to split her creative
focus between her students and herself, and she hasn’t stopped since.
It took Stephanie four years and 10 manuscripts before she got
her first sales call, but after that, things happened fast and furiously.
Within the span of a year, she was offered contracts for 11 books and just
three years later hit the New York Times Best Seller list with “Hold on Tight”.
Stephanie is the creator of the SEAL and SHADOW FORCE series, as well as the HOLD trilogy.
She is also ½ of the literary duo that make up Sydney
Croft, the author of the ACRO series (the other ½ of which being Larissa Ione).
Her most recent series, ETERNAL WOLF
CLAN has 2 full length novels and a novella now,
with the most recent release, “Dire Wants”, just being released on 11/6/12. The next release, “Dire Desires”, is set to
be released 7/2/13 and we are very excited!
We’re here today to help Stephanie promote and celebrate “Dire
Wants”, but please check out her website for additional information, synopses,
and reviews for all of the books and series mentioned above and more: http://www.stephanietyler.com/index.php.
For those of you not yet familiar with Stephanie’s ETERNAL WOLF
CLAN series, we wanted to give you the synopses and our reviews of the full
length novels to peak your interests.
“Dire Warning”
ETERNAL WOLF CLAN Book
#.5:
Immortal and invincible, Rifter is the head of the last surviving pack of Dire Wolves—a band of Alpha brothers charged with protecting the Weres. But now that witches have joined forces with nefarious weretrappers, it’s a perfect storm for double trouble. When the murder of a human points to a wolf, along with the threat of the packs being outted to the world, the Dires fear that something even more dangerous is out there hiding in the dark, something waiting for the right time to show itself.
Includes a letter from the author and a teaser chapter from Dire Needs.
“Dire
Needs”
ETERNAL
WOLF CLAN Book #1:
The
full moon is their mistress. They are predators of pleasure and pain. Feared by
humans, envied by werewolves, the Dire Wolves are immortal shifters, obeying no
laws but their own bestial natures. Once they were many, but now only six
remain, a dangerous wolfpack forever on the hunt…
Rifter leads the pack, embracing the lifestyle and ethics of an outlaw biker even as he battles an ancient enemy who has become a new, powerful force. But with his Brother Wolf raging inside him, howling to be unleashed, he needs to satisfy his hungers. And when he meets a drop-dead gorgeous blonde drinking alone in a bar that caters to both human and inhuman, Rifter’s primal instinct is to claim her.
Gwen has her own desires, long unfulfilled. She hopes a passionate night with the leather-clad, Harley-riding biker will ease her suffering. The seizures that have wracked her body her entire life are incurable—and they’re killing her.
But none of that will matter if Rifter can’t stop the growing threat to them all–trappers who are determined to enslave humankind and use the Dire wolves as part of their nefarious plan.
“Dire
Wants”
ETERNAL
WOLF CLAN Book #2:
JUST
RELEASED 11/6/12!
The supernatural world is rising up against the human one. The
weretrappers want control, and only the immortal Dire wolves stand in the way
of total destruction. Stray, a Dire, and his long-lost brother, Killian, emerge
as the leaders of their pack. To keep themselves and the humans safe, the Dires
need a witch as powerful as Seb, who betrayed the Dires to work for the
weretrappers.
They find what they are looking for in Kate, a human who survived a horrible car accident that left her back scarred with a handprint no one else can see. Stray senses Kate's abilities as a witch and recruits her to help the Dires—all the while knowing she is so powerful they will need to kill her once she helps defeat the weretrappers.
Stray doesn't expect the powerful connection that he feels with Kate, or his irresistible need to protect her. They cannot hide their feelings or each other, and what once was taboo now seems inevitable…

When Characters Surprise You
by Stephanie Tyler
My characters do that a lot.
From the beginning, I’ve learned to just live and let live when it comes
to the men and women who invade my mind and demand I write their stories. And that’s what it comes down to – if a
character is persistent enough, he or she will make it onto the page.
In Dire Wants, I had all my characters figured out. Or so I thought. I knew I’d bring back my favorite Weretwins,
Cyd and Cain. And I brought back Angus
Young, FBI Agent, because any self-respecting AC/DC fan would enjoy that.
Come on, you know you do.
Anyway, Angus and Cain have a short history together from book
1, Dire
Needs, when Cain gets arrested at the scene of a murder. Angus has been trailing him since then,
working with Leo Shimmin and the trappers to try to get the Weres under
control. So I expected them to spend
time together in this book.
What I didn’t expect was that, behind my back, they’d fallen for
one another. I guess they were trying to
break it to me gently, because that wasn’t the plan. But I’m writing their scenes and I’m like, huh, so…this isn’t what I expected. There was a palpable attraction that, as much
as I tried to brush off, wouldn’t go away.
I’m lucky that gay characters are more accepted today in
mainstream romance. When I wrote my
first gay couple, even though it was for an erotic paranormal (Sydney Croft’s
Dev and Oz) Syd’s editor wasn’t entirely thrilled about it. Some readers put up huge warnings on their
reviews (insert eye roll here). But, for
the most part, the characters Larissa and I still hear the most about are
(besides Creed and Annika) are Dev and Oz.
Angus and Cain face an uphill battle in the book and it has
nothing to do with their sexuality. The
most problematic is that Cain’s a wolf and Angus is very much not. Do you like it when humans and others get
together in books? What happens when,
like in my Dire series, a human can’t be turned into a wolf…and the Weres live
far longer than humans? Do you have a
favorite other / human couple?

Wants from either Amazon or B&N!

Excerpt from DIRE WANTS
Cain
hung up the phone and handed it to Angus, who was staring at him oddly.
“What?”
“You’re
. . . glowing a little.”
Cain
nodded. Strange that the fed could see it. “I’m omega.”
“Omega,”
Angus repeated. “Isn’t that usually the lowest rung on the wolf ladder?”
“Not
for my kind,” he murmured. “Special.”
Angus
gave him a grim look. “Don’t tell me any more, Cain. Shimmin gave you truth
serum.”
“No
shit.” Cain closed his eyes and then opened them again. Pulled Angus in for a
kiss. At first the fed froze, and Cain realized he couldn’t fight the truth
with or without the serum.
His wolf instincts were never wrong about this shit, but what was wrong was wanting a human male. And a fucking fine specimen he was.
He
waited, his lips against Angus’s until he heard, “Cain.”
It
was a whisper. A plea. And it was spoken half captured by Cain’s mouth covering
his. But Angus responded after he froze for a second, gave as good as he got,
pulled Cain closer.
Yeah,
Cain hadn’t been wrong about this. He kissed the fed fiercely, and Angus’s
hands fisted in Cain’s hair gently as Cain struggled to stay the fuck awake.
Wasn’t
going to happen for much longer. When he woke, there might be regrets on both
ends, but for now the truth overtook him.
“Wanted
to do that . . . for a while,” he managed before the drugs won. He should’ve
shifted to get them out of his system faster, but it would’ve meant less time
with Angus . . . and more danger for him as well.
Fuck,
he was in trouble.

Yah Stephanie, great to see you here! In answer to your question, yes I like seeing cross-species relationships. I just finished Donna Grant's Midnight Seduction with immortal highlanders falling for humans with special abilities. Each time this "problem" comes up the writer has to come up with a solution. I love the creative writer's mind working outside my "box. Keep up the great work, I hope your daughter is better & you have a peaceful Christmas :-)
Thanks for this giveaway !
I'm completely new to Stephanie's books but the excerpt looks good so I decided to try hehe! ;)
I don't mind who is what in series... but I do like a happily ever after...so if a wolf/human got together...I guess i'd expect the author to find a way that they could be together forever...instead of a short mortal life where one dies :( that's sad lol
