She won’t rest until
she’s sent every walking corpse
back to its grave. Forever.
Had anyone told Alice Bell that her entire life would change course between one heartbeat and the next, she would have laughed. From blissful to tragic, innocent to ruined? Please. But that’s all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything she knew and loved was gone.
Her father was right. The monsters are real….
To avenge her family, Ali must learn to fight the undead. To survive, she must learn to trust the baddest of the bad boys, Cole Holland. But Cole has secrets of his own, and if Ali isn’t careful, those secrets might just prove to be more dangerous than the zombies….
I wish I could go back and do a thousand things differently.
I'd tell my sister no.
I'd never beg my mother to talk to my dad.
I'd zip my lips and swallow those hateful words.
Or, barring all of that, I'd hug my sister, my mom and my dad one last time.
I'd tell them I love them.
I wish... Yeah, I wish.

Sounds
good, doesn't it!? It absolutely is! :) Now that we've
captured your interests, how about we get to the highlight of our Event?
We had the extreme pleasure of sitting down to talk with Cole and Ali of
"Alice in Zombieland". Check it out below...
Hello Book Monsters and Literal Addicts! Once
again we were lucky enough to be able to secure an interview with some amazing
stars. This time, Cole and Ali of Gena
Showalter’s Alice in Zombieland. Take a peek at our interview with the cast of
Gena’s latest hit…
[After securing our
interview with Ali and Cole, we booked our flight to Birmingham and a hotel,
went shopping for some new hip clothes (have to impress the youngsters you
know), and planned out what we thought you, our readers, would want to know
about the couple. We had made
arrangements to meet the duo at a quaint little diner in their hometown, so
upon arrival we scoped it out and just counted down the hours until we could
chat with them.]
[Arriving early, we
snagged a spacious booth in the most visible corner, ordered a couple burgers
and milkshakes, and settled in for the couple to arrive]
Chelle: (taking another
huge pull off of the huge mint cookies and cream milkshake and groaning) Sweet
mercy, this is the best milkshake I’ve had in ages!
Carla: (wiping mouth after a
bite of her burger) You aren’t kidding,
this burger is to die for!
[We hear the bell over
the door tinkle and glance up to see a young, beautiful leggy blonde and a
gorgeous dark haired bad boy enter hand in hand. The guy seems to memorize the details of the
entire place in a single glance]
Chelle: Whoa! O.K, I am going to sound like the worst kind
of Cougar right now and utterly lascivious, but Cole is just…yummy. (shaking
head and laughing) That’s got to be them, right!? (looking to Carla)
Carla: (chuckling) You’re under 40, doesn’t that make you a Puma
rather than a Cougar?
[We laugh together and
stand up to wave and get the couple’s attention]
Cole: Ladies, I hope you’ll understand the reason for this, but even
if you don’t, I’m still going to do it…
[He forces us to stand
and quickly pats us down. We wanted to
ask him to be more thorough, but manage to hold the words back. When he’s done, he motions to Ali, and she
slides into the booth. He takes the spot
next to her. And wow, he’s big. He can’t be seventeen. He just can’t be. And are those eyes really violet?]
Chelle: (shaking hands
with both—and cringing under the strength of Cole’s grip) Hi, I’m Michelle from
LITERAL ADDICTION, but everyone calls me Chelle, and this (gesturing to Carla)
Carla: (shaking hands—and
cringing--as well) I’m Carla from Book Monster Reviews. Thank you both so much for coming to talk
with us today. Our readers will be
thrilled.
Chelle: (sitting down) We
were just stuffing our faces. Can we get
you two anything?
Ali: No, thanks. I have
to train after this, and I’d rather not spew my meal all over a certain boy’s
boots (thrusts her thumb in Cole’s direction).
Not again.
Cole: Are you saying I
push you too hard?
Ali: Yes!
Cole: Good. You’re
welcome.
Carla: I hope we didn’t drag
you guys away from anything important today!?
Ali: (grumbling) Just the
workout I did before this.
Cole: Again, you’re welcome.
Chelle: So, for added
introduction, can the two of you tell us a random fact about yourselves that
will help our readers get to know you better?
Ali: Well, I’m learning
to speak Meow. My best friend Kat is
teaching me.
Cole (fighting a grin): Ask her to say, “Cole is mean.” She’s quite good.
Carla: Ali, we’re so sorry
about all of your loss lately! You have
our utmost sympathies and we hope that you’re getting better each day with the
grief.
Ali: Life hasn’t been easy, that’s for sure, but I’ve realized I
have to pick myself up and fight the good fight. I’m doing more than surviving. I’m thriving.
Cole: (grinning proudly) That’s my girl.
Chelle: You two look
pretty cozy together, it’s nice to see! (smiles) If you were to pick one thing about the other
that drew you two together, what would it be?
Cole: Ali, you’re up
first.
Ali: Let’s see…well, what happened at our first meeting was a
pretty big draw. I mean, I might not
have given him a second glance otherwise.
Cole: You lie. You gave
me more than one glance even before what happened actually happened.
Ali: And you know this how?
Cole: Because I was giving you more than one glance right
back. By the way, you give good eye.
Ali: (blushes)
Carla: Any pet peeves with
each other yet, or is the relationship still too new? (chuckles)
Ali: Oh my gosh, where to begin?
He’s so bossy! And he picks
fights with soooo many people.
Cole: And I actually win.
Ali: True.
Chelle: This might be a
hard question to answer, but what’s it like to leave your body and enter
another dimension as pure spirit?
Ali: Weird.
Cole: Necessary.
Carla: What do you find the
hardest about what you guys are doing?
Keeping the secret, or the fight itself?
Cole: The fight itself.
You get knocked down, you lose your friends, and no one understands why
you’re bruised and angry and frustrated, but you have to immediately get up and
keeping fighting or you’re dead.
Ali: Yeah, what he said.
Chelle: Why do you think
that for some, seeing zombies is something attained at birth, and for others,
it takes a traumatic experience to unlock the ‘sight’?
Ali: People build walls.
Those walls have to come down.
Carla: We know that you and
the gang have been training hard and getting ready for the next big
showdown. How are things going? Are the delicate balances within the team
with regards to personalities calming down somewhat?
Cole: When you’ve got a roomful of alphas, tempers are going to
blow. That’s all there is to it. But
there can only be one boss, and if that boss does his job, no one will be
(permanently) hurt.
Chelle: It’s got to be
difficult being still so relatively young and yet having such an amazing
responsibility on your shoulders. How do you deal with it all?
Ali: You know, I’m still learning.
Cole: You keep your eye on the prize.
Carla: What are you guys
concentrating on most right now?
Ali: Training. I have so
much more to learn about the dark world of the zombies—and just how to shine
the light through it.
Cole: How to recover from whatever scare Ali causes.
Ali: Funny.
Cole: Who’s joking?
Chelle: What’s up next for
you guys and the rest of the gang?
Ali: I have a feeling we’ll find out when you do.
Cole: I hear a former slayer is coming back to town and if that
happens…
Ali: Wait. Tell me
everything! Who is it?
Cole: I can’t speak the name without punching something.
Carla: (glancing at
watch) Oh geez, we don’t want to keep
you guys here all day, I’m sure you have better things to do than undergo our
interrogation (laughs).
Chelle: Yeah, we probably
should let you go, but before we do, is there anything that either of you would
like us to take back to our readers?
Ali: There is a world
operating alongside ours. Just because
you can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not there.
Cole: Draw a Bloodline.
All’s I’m gonna say.
Chelle: Thank you both so
much for taking time out of your weekend to chat with us. We really appreciate it and we know our
readers will love us bringing back this interview!
Carla: Yes, thanks a
ton. Good luck in everything, and if you
ever need help spreading the word about anything, you know how to reach us.
