Author Ambush with Katie Reus

Katie Reus

Happy Tuesday All!!
Book Monster Reviews and LITERAL ADDICTION are very pleased to welcome author Katie Reus back to our sites today.

Katie fell in love with romance at a young age thanks to books she pilfered from her mom’s stash. Years later she loves reading romance almost as much as she loves writing it. However, she didn’t always know she wanted to be a writer. After graduating summa cum laude with a degree in psychology and working too many jobs she hated, she finally figured things out.

She now spends her days writing dark paranormal romance and sexy romantic suspense. Her publishers include Carina Press, Harlequin Nocturne, Ellora’s Cave and in early 2012 the first book in her new paranormal series will release from NAL/Signet Eclipse (Penguin). Katie also writes erotic romance across many genres including: romantic suspense, contemporary, paranormal, and futuristic romance under the pen name Savannah Stuart. Regardless of genre or the name she writes under, she always includes a happy ending. When she’s not creating stories she loves spending time with her husband, family and the eclectic group of animals they’ve adopted.

Katie is the creator of the new paranormal romance series MOON SHIFTER. MOON SHIFTER currently consists of 2 full length novels and 1 novella - “Alpha Instinct” (book #1), “Lover’s Instinct” (novella) and “Primal Possession” (book #2), which was just released today - 9/4/12.

For those of you not yet familiar with Katie’s work, here are the blurbs to get you up to speed:

"Alpha Instinct"
Moon Shifter, #1

Alpha Instinct (Moon Shifter, #1)
Fear has a scent. So does desire…
Ana Cordona has been a strong leader for the lupine shifters who survived after all the males and most of the females in her pack were mysteriously poisoned. As tough as she is, with no Alpha male, the pack is vulnerable to the devious shifter Taggart, who wants to claim both their ranch and Ana as his own. When Connor Armstrong comes back into her life, promising protection, it’s almost enough to make Ana forget how he walked out on her before—and reluctantly accept his offer to mate.

The minute Connor sees Ana again, it reawakens a raw hunger. He must have her for his bondmate—his wolf cries out for it. But his human side knows he must proceed with caution because of their complicated past. If he is to truly have her body and soul, he must go beyond his burning desire and win back her heart. Whatever it takes, he is determined not to leave her side again.

But Taggart and his rival pack are not their only enemies. A human element in town is targeting shifters. Their plan not only threatens Ana and Connor’s future, but the lives of the entire pack…

Lupine shifter Nikan Lawless has it bad for Esperanze Cordona, the sweet and curvy woman who only views him as a friend. But when Nikan is assigned to act as Esperanze’s bodyguard during a weekend education conference, he knows it’s the perfect opportunity to seduce her off her feet—away from the pack.

To put his plan into motion Nikan cancels one of their hotel rooms, giving them time to get to know one another in a whole different way. But when a man from Esperanze’s past shows up in need of help, Nikan must shield her from a group of dangerous rogue shifters, all while trying to prove that they’re destined to be mates.

To protect her, he will unleash the beast within…

As his pack’s second-in-command, lupine shifter Liam Armstrong gives orders and takes what he wants—until he meets red-headed, blue-eyed December McIntyre. Liam knows the human beauty is his intended mate the moment he sees her, but December is far too strong-willed to accept his protection.

December, whose brother is the town sheriff, has every reason to mistrust shifters after one killed her youngest sibling. But the forceful and handsome Liam has gotten under her skin in a way she hadn’t thought possible, and the desire she feels for him is almost too much to bear.

When a radical hate group targets all humans known to sympathize with paranormal beings, December is attacked in her bookstore. Reluctantly, she turns to the only one who can help her: Liam. And he is going to take her to places within herself she never knew existed.

They sound incredible don't they?!  Trust us, they totally are amazing reads and you don't want to miss out on this great series.  But, before you run off to start ordering your copies, check out Katie's Guest Post and find out what her guilty pleasures are, and then, enter to win a copy of PRIMAL POSSESSION.

Thanks so much to Carla (and Michelle) for having me here (and on LITERAL ADDICTION) today! Today I have a new book releasing (Primal Possession, the second book in my Moon Shifter series) and Carla (and Chelle) have been cool enough to let me hang out and celebrate. I’m also pretty stoked about a few other releases today and plan to catch up on reading. On release day I tend to not work too much if I can help it because I like to indulge in one of my favorite (not-so) guilty pleasures. Books! Which leads me to the point of my post. I’m all about guilty pleasures! Some of my favorites are:

1. Books! This one isn’t a surprise. With my kindle I’m sort of even more obsessed now with reading than ever before. And I love that I can buy books instantly and get my fix with no wait.

2. Chocolate. Ghirardelli milk chocolate bars filled with caramel are my weakness! Or anything Godiva.

3. Pedicures (so rare).

4. Sneaking away for a day at the beach.

5. The Vampire Diaries show. The drama in this show kills me! I can’t get enough of it. Every time I watch I wonder how they can possibly make things crazier and somehow they always do. It’s the best addiction.

6. Giant hot fudge sundaes with whipped cream and nuts!

7. Buying new shoes with no place to wear them.

8. Caramel macchiato’s from Starbucks. My mouth is watering just thinking about one. I currently live in a small town without a Starbucks (shudder) so whenever I visit my family I overload on these. I get all hopped up on caffeine for a week then have withdrawals when I go home.

9. Waffles or pancakes. Right now I’m limiting my carb intake (because carbs hate me) so of course I want pancakes all the time. It probably doesn’t help that I make them for my little one most mornings. Apparently I like torturing myself. Hmm, I’m seeing a theme with all my food guilty pleasures.

10. Expensive wine. Any time I make a sale or for release day, my husband always buys me an expensive bottle of Pinot Grigio to celebrate.

What are some of your guilty pleasures? One reader who comments will be randomly selected to win a print copy of Primal Possession (US only).

A little about Katie: I’ve been reading romance since a young age—ever since I discovered my mom’s hidden stash. Luckily the addiction stayed with me into adulthood. I write paranormal romance and sexy romantic suspense for Carina Press, Harlequin Nocturne, and NAL/Signet Eclipse. To learn more about me please visit my website, my blog, facebook or find me on twitter @katiereus.

Thanks again for having me!

Guilty pleasure? That's a tough one because I normally don't feel guilty because I can justify whatever, however. But, I think right now it would be books. I have more than 2,500 books (paper and digital) but I keep checking the web for new books. I'm not buying right now but I am stacking my wish list for when I have money again! jepebATverizonDOTnet
