Hello
everyone! LITERAL ADDICTION and Book
Monster Reviews are proud to welcome award winning author Cynthia Eden to the site today!
Cynthia
is a Gemini who has always wanted to write.
She particularly enjoys creating stories about monsters, vampires,
werewolves, etc as in her paranormal romances, and even the real-life monsters
that populate her romantic suspense stories.
She does it quite well too! Her
romantic suspense novel “Deadly Fear”, was recently named as a RITA
finalist.
Cynthia
graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Alabama where she
studied Sociology (because people interest her) and Communication (because she
likes to write about the people who interest her). She worked as a college admissions counselor,
a teacher, and an editor. Now, she’s
thrilled to be spending her days making stuff up and getting paid to do it.
She
loves Dracula, Lois Lane, Buffy and Wolverine, and has no problem admitting
that she’s addicted to chocolate and romance novels.
Her
favorite films are The Princess Bride, Romancing the Stone, Friday the 13th,
Underworld Evolution, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Hellboy.
While
Cynthia thoroughly enjoys a life of Fantasy, she also enjoys her reality with
her husband Nicholas and son Jack.

St. James. When the moment of death comes, Keenan hesitates, and instead of
taking Nicole, Keenan touches the vampire who’s attacking her.
Cast out of heaven for disobedience, Keenan plummets to earth. Six months later, he finally manages to track Nicole to a bar in Mexico. He’s stunned to discover that the woman he remembers has undergone a dramatic change—she’s become a vampire. Sammael–call him Sam–was an angel once. An Angel of Death.
But the dispassionate, watch-from-above thing just wasn’t working for him when
it meant watching evil torture innocent souls day in and day out. It might have
cost him his wings, but these days he gets to apply the direct method on the
bad guys. Problem is, what’s making his life difficult is a bad girl…
Seline
O’Shaw needs protection, and with the hounds of hell on her tail, she’s not
going to quibble too hard about where she gets it. Sam’s virtue is
questionable, but he’s smoking hot, massively powerful, and owes her a favor.
So what if she’s getting a little case of angel lust? There are some damn
deadly sins after her hide…

Five
Things I Learned While Writing
ANGEL BETRAYED
Hi, everyone! I’d like to offer a HUGE thanks to Carla & Chelle
for having me over today—thank you! ;)
For this post, I thought I’d share 5 things I learned while writing my
book, ANGEL BETRAYED.
Some people think that there isn’t a whole lot of research
involved in a paranormal tale. They
think that the writer just gets to make up the world and the world rules as
she/he goes along. And, in some instances, that’s true. ;) My paranormal
romance novels do tend to be a little less research intensive than my
romantic suspense stories, but, I think that may be due to the fact that I’ve
actually already spent huge amounts of time researching the paranormal.
What can I say? I’m a paranormal addict. Have been, for as
long as I can remember. So I’ve been doing research on paranormal events and
paranormal creatures pretty much all of my life. (Ah, fun times…)
But, I *did* learn a few new paranormal tidbits while writing
ANGEL BETRAYED, so I thought I’d share that info with you. Ready?
1.
I’ve seen a lot of websites (such as this one: http://www.toptenz.net/top-10-most-haunted-cities-in-the-u-s.php)
that list New Orleans as THE most haunted city in the U.S. The reason for this honor? New Orleans is filled with plenty of haunted
hotspots. And while I did know about most of these haunted places, I discovered
ever more haunts while doing my research.
One in particular that I hope to visit one day? The Beauregard-Keyes House. According to
stories, full-on haunted battles (with horses and wounded soldiers) an appear
in this place. Interesting.
2.
Some people actually claim to have seen vampires
in New Orleans. And I’m not just talking
about the folks who dress as vampires and give the guided tours. There are tourists who swear they’ve seen the
real creatures of the night stalking the cemeteries in New Orleans. Now,
granted, those cemeteries are pretty spooky, but are vampires stalking them? In
my books, they are. In reality? You be the judge.
3.
Is it possible to eat beignets at midnight in New
Orleans? I know, this isn’t necessarily a paranormal tidbit, but it’s a cool
question (hopefully). In case you ever want to have a midnight dinner of
beignets with a vamp, then, yes, you can have them in New Orleans. The French
Market’s CafĂ© du Monde is open 24 hours a day (and aren’t those some
wonderfully friendly paranormal hours?).
4.
Many folks seem to believe that werewolves stalk
the swamps outside of New Orleans. Called loup garou by the believers, these
supernatural beasties are half man, half wolf (or some combination
in-between). Think it’s fun to go out on
a gator tour into the swamp? Think again. If you get left behind, you’ll have
more to worry about than just the gators. The loup garou may come after you.
5.
Voodoo is alive and well in New Orleans, and, if
you have the chance to visit, I’d recommend the New Orleans Historic Voodoo
Museum. Sure, you might get a few chills from the tales of old magic, but you
can also get an up-close look at relics left behind. Voodoo lore slipped into many of my Fallen
books. It just didn’t seem right to pen a New Orleans set book without a little
voodoo.
Thanks for checking out my list!! Have you heard any haunted tales about New
Orleans? Please share! One commenter will win a copy of ANGEL BETRAYED and one
commenter will win an ARC of my upcoming release, HOWL FOR IT.
Best wishes,
Cynthia
