MIDNIGHT has 9 books – “Midnight Kiss”, “Midnight Temptation”, “Midnight Surrender”, “Midnight Enchantment”, “Midnight Gamble”, “Midnight Redeemer”, “Midnight Shadows”, “Midnight Masquerade”, and “Midnight Crusader”. MOONLIGHT currently has 6 installments – “Masked by Moonlight”, “Chased by Moonlight”, Captured by Moonlight”, “Bound by Moonlight”, “Hunter of Shadows”, and the latest, “Seeker of Shadows”, Book #6, which was just released 5/29/12!

For those of you not yet familiar with Nancy’s work, we highly suggest you check out her backlist, but for today, we’ll give you a rundown of the MOONLIGHT series:

“Masked by Moonlight”

 MOONLIGHT Book #1:

Masked by Moonlight
Homicide detective Charlotte Caissie is dedicated to bringing down the crime boss responsible for her father’s murder.  Using Jimmy Legere’s right hand man is a dangerous gamble, not just because of his ruthless reputation as more monster than man, but because her feelings for her mysterious and irresistible enemy are … complicated.  There’s just something about Max.
Rescued from the swamps as a child, Max Savoie owes Jimmy Legere his life. Existing silently in his rescuer’s shadow, he heeds only one voice.  Until Charlotte Caissie awakens his emotions and tests his loyalties.  Forced to step outside his cautious rules to save her, he risks more than his heart . . . he risks exposing his dark secret.

Working together means facing the truth about who and what they are, and what they need from one another.  If Max is the murderer she seeks, Cee Cee might be his next victim. She can’t afford to trust any man.  Good thing Max isn’t one.

“Chased by Moonlight”

 MOONLIGHT Book #2:

Chased by Moonlight
Things get more complicated for Cee Cee when she’s appointed lead investigator in a high-profile murder that points to her preternatural lover. To prove him innocent, she must distance herself from her prime suspect, but tangled emotions don’t make it easy for her to stay away.  And neither does Max.

Left in charge of a criminal empire and protector of a clan of shadowy shape-shifters, Max walks a precarious line.  Can he believe the cunning stranger who claims he can teach Max the things he needs to know to stay alive—a conman who would betray anyone to make a profit—a man who may be a ruthless killer?

Pulled between her desire for justice and the man she loves, the harder Cee Cee fights to clear Max’s name, the more he pushes her away.  He’s protecting a dark truth that could blow the top off her case. And that means hiding his motives and lying to a woman who values truth above all. The woman who can save him . . . if he’ll let her.

“Captured by Moonlight”
 MOONLIGHT Book #3:

Captured by Moonlight
A mysterious death begins a dangerous chain of events, forcing choices that mean no turning back as Max’s past catches up to him.  But as the unexpected discovery of a family thought lost to him threatens the existence of Max’s paranormal world, his awakening senses strain the bond he shares with Detective Charlotte Caissie.
Driven by instincts he can’t control, Max fights the need to claim his human mate. How can he protect her when she’s not safe with him? She’s strong enough to keep his secrets, but can she survive the test of his love?
Separating business from pleasure just got more difficult. To have Max, Cee Cee must face her greatest fears by accepting who and what he is . . . someone deadly, unnatural and outside the law she serves. Loving Max Savoie isn’t easy, but holding onto him could prove fatal.

“Bound by Moonlight”
 MOONLIGHT Book #4:

Bound by Moonlight (Moonlight, #4)
Detective Charlotte Caissie is suddenly sharing drawer space and making media news with her shape-shifter lover Max Savoie. Knowing the reformed mobster is determined to be accepted by her peers, how can she ask him to return to his criminal roots to help her solve a complex case

Going undercover to find the vicious serial killer who kidnapped a colleague’s daughter, Cee Cee is caught between the partner whose integrity she relies on and her fiercely possessive lover. In calling on Max to use his preternatural talents to aide a hated enemy, she crosses a line that strains their relationship to its limits.
With his secret spreading beyond those he can trust, Max is forced to make dangerous alliances to protect his family and his clan. The only certainty he has is his love for his human mate, until the loyalties that define them threaten to divide them forever.

“Hunter of Shadows”
 MOONLIGHT Book #5:

Hunter of Shadows (Moonlight, #5)
Transferring to the New Orleans Police Department, Detective Silas MacCreedy has a hidden agenda: to secure his clan’s place once again in the Shifter hierarchy. What  he didn’t count on was stumbling upon a sexy assassin who could shred his best intentions and lead him into a dangerous dance that threatens to engage his heart.
Monica Fraser knows just how to make a man beg—for his life. But she has no clue how to fight her attraction to the fiercely intense detective who seems determined to get in her way, both professionally and intimately.
When emotional attachments to the past and an unexpected glimpse of a different future have her questioning her deadly purpose, Nica must discover the truth about her secret abilities in order to free herself from the forces that control her. But that freedom comes with a price—trusting those she’s been ordered to eliminate.

“Seeker of Shadows”
 MOONLIGHT Book #6:
JUST RELEASED 5/29/12

His town.
Seeker of Shadows (Moonlight, #6)
Susanna Duchamps came to New Orleans to settle a debt and to temporarily escape the controlled constraints of her life among the Chosen. What she finds is an opportunity to make miraculous strides with her research into Shifter genetics . . . and an unexpected, but never forgotten, man from her complicated past.
Her rules.
Shifter club owner Jacques LaRoche is fiercely protective of his freedom. Stripped of his memories of a former life, he longs for the mate he lost . . . until the enticingly familiar presence of a mysterious stranger from the north ignites a primal, nearly uncontrollable need to release the untamed beast inside him.
Their last chance.
Susanna dares not tell Jacques it was she who sacrificed his past and her future years ago, to protect him and the secret she carried. But her arrival in New Orleans comes with consequences. When a bloody confrontation erupts between their enemy clans, will she betray her lover once again—or throw her own life on the line so they can finish what they started?

Uh huh, we know, you’re hunting them down from your favorite book-seller as we speak, but what do you say we get to the interview and find out what Nancy’s been up to since we last spoke and find out some more about this remarkable new book and series?

LITERAL ADDICTION/Book Monster Reviews:  Hi Nancy!  We’re honored to have you back with us today.  Congratulations on the release of “Seeker of Shadows” and the incredible buzz it’s been getting.

NANCY: Thank YOU!  It’s always so much fun to be your guest. You have such dynamic sites and so much enthusiasm for the genre.

LITERAL ADDICTION/Book Monster Reviews:  Like usual, we’ll start out by getting to know you a little bit better (all different questions than last time we promise!) and then we’ll dig into talk of the new release and series…

Q1): If you were told the world was going to end in 24 hours, what would you do with your remaining time on Earth?

NANCY: Either surround myself with bad carbs and watch all the episodes of LOST again or hit on my hot neighbors ala “Airplane” . .

Q2):  We asked you last time what 3 things were that always make you smile.  What are 3 things that never fail to piss you off?

NANCY: 1) people who move things on my desk (I’m very OCD!), 2) Robo-marketing calls that get you out of the shower, 3) a great TV series that’s cancelled leaving you with a cliff hanger (or book series, for that matter).

Q3):  What are the best and worst parts of writing for you?

NANCY: Starting the first page of a new project and not being able to stop until writing the final one is the best. I love it when a plan comes together. The worst is the waiting . . . for concept approval, for revisions, for the cover, for the advance checks  . . . and the absolute worst, not knowing what’s inside the royalty check envelope.  It’s that OCD thing.

Q4):  If you could have a super power, what would you want it to be and why?

NANCY: To stop time, definitely!  That way I could put in a full day of writing before going to my 9-to-5 AND have time to keep up with my blogging schedule.

Q5):  Are there any authors and/or titles that you feel have inspired your writing career?

NANCY: J.D. Robb for being able to keep a series fresh forever, my critique group for always having my back, early Stephen King for igniting my imagination (especially with The Stand) and Dean Koontz because I love his books!

Q6):  What are some of your favorite TV Shows and Movies?

NANCY: I’m a hardcore Netflix addict so this is a tough one. Movies: LA Confidential, 300, and anything Jeremy Renner. LOVED the Avengers! TV: Rome, Justified, Castle, American Horror Story, Glee (okay, I’m a Gleek!), Burn Notice, Once Upon a Time, Walking Dead and Dexter (especially with Ray Stevenson guesting next season!). That’s really all I watch other than HGTV.

Q7):  If you could describe your life up to this moment in 5 words, what would they be?

NANCY: Chaos with flashes of brilliance.

Q8):  If your house was on fire and everyone was sure to be safe, what book would you want to try and save from the inferno?

NANCY: I’d grab my laptop to save my works in progress. All my 5-Star reads are saved through Amazon on my Kindle App. Things can always be replaced. Ideas are a little harder to duplicate.

Q9):  We know you hate being asked “where” you get your inspiration, but was there any specific inspiration behind the creation of the MOONLIGHT series?

NANCY: I love gritty noir detective films and wanted to bring that moody, broody, dark element of suspense into a paranormal series. Then, of course, there’s my passion for New Orleans, making it a character of its own.

Q10): How many books do you have planned yet for the series?

NANCY: How many would you like?  Seriously.  I’ve expanded the Moonlight world so I could go in infinite directions. The real question is when am I going to give Max and Cee Cee another book.  I’m ready. Pocket has to be willing. Readers think I’m being mean by stretching things out but it’s really only because I’d want to do a whole book to give their romance justice and my publisher hasn’t gotten on board with that yet.

Q11):  What are you the most proud of with regards to the series thus far?

NANCY:  Getting such positive reviews in Publishers Weekly (who famously doesn’t care for romance), especially getting that first starred review for Masked by Moonlight (my first PW review ever!).  That was a huge kick in the pants prestige-wise for a new series.

Q12):  We know this is like asking you who your favorite child is, but do you have a favorite MOONLIGHT character or couple?

NANCY: Of course, Max will always be top dog. My favorites are always the ones I’m living with at the moment, so couple-wise it’s Cale and Kendra in Book 8 right now.

Q13):  What were some of the challenges (research, literary, psychological, logistical, etc) in bringing the MOONLIGHT series to life?

NANCY:  Getting it sold in the first place! It started out as a shorter length stand alone paranormal that grew out of control into four books with the same hero and heroine.  My lovely editor was so excited by premise but she had to work some magic to get the PTB to go along. They were nervous about the continuing hero and heroine which is done in urban fantasy but not in paranormal.  Just getting those first four books out with their integrity intact was a MAJOR accomplishment.  Now, it’s keeping track of who said what to whom in which book when.

Q14):  We know you had a few things in the works the last time we talked, but is there anything in the near future that us fans can look forward to?

NANCY: I’ve got two more books sold in the MOONLIGHT series.  I’m waiting for revisions on the first (BETRAYED BY SHADOWS will be out as a Pocket Star e-exclusive on 12-18-12!) and the second I’m writing now.  I also just got the rights back to my Dana Ransom backlist (20 historical and contemporary romances!) that I need to decide what to do with. That’ll keep me busy for a while.

Q15):  Is there anything special you would like to say to your readers about “Seeker of Shadows” while we have you here today?

NANCY: THANK YOU for sticking with the series. SEEKER OF SHADOWS won’t disappoint. Jacques, my burly bar owner, right hand man to Max, is my editor’s favorite, so it was only right that he have his own book. I’ve been dropping hints about his mysterious background and this story will blow it out of the water, not to mention bring in some eye-popping new developments within the “By Moonlight” world.  Get ready for romance, action  . . . and other hot stuff!

LITERAL ADDICTION/Book Monster Reviews:  Nancy, thank you so much again for being back with us today.  We love having you here, are beyond excited to spread the word about “Seeker of Shadows” and the MOONLIGHT series, and can’t wait to chat with you Live a little bit later.  We’d absolutely love to have you back…it’s always a pleasure!! J

NANCY:  Thanks, ladies.  You’re the BOMB!  Looking forward to the chat and getting to other questions readers might have.  Happy Reading!
