“Heart of the Incubus”

After her fiancé broke her heart, Genevieve has had enough of womanizers. She’s determined to steer clear of sexy-as-sin Dr. Taylor, despite the fact that his incubus allure makes her want to rip his clothes off. But when a secret admirer’s affection turns to the macabre with threatening notes and grisly gifts, Cresso appoints himself her protector. As she and Cresso hunt her stalker, she discovers there’s a lot more to the sensual incubus than she ever imagined.

Wow, right!!?  Make sure to add them to your TBR and find them from your favorite bookseller, but now, let’s get to the interview and learn some more about Rosalie and her books, shall we….

LITERAL ADDICTION/Book Monster Reviews:  Hi Rosalie!  We’re very happy to have you with us today!  Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to let our followers and members get to know you and your books a little bit better.
Rosalie:  Thanks so much for inviting me over today. So excited to be here!

LITERAL ADDICTION/Book Monster Reviews:  We like to start out by getting to know our guest author a bit more, and then we’ll dig into the books.
Q1): Can you tell us 3 things about yourself that we can't find out on the internet?
Rosalie: Oh, let’s see. I’m a Sagittarius, I’m addicted to Dove milk chocolate, and I’m a total sucker for romantic comedies. Yes, even the ones that get horrible reviews. I totally loved Friends with Benefits starring Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake!

Q2):  What are 3 things that always make you smile, and 3 things that never fail to piss you off?
Rosalie: Three things that always make me smile are my son, a good day at the beach, and a really great book. Three things that piss me off are rude people, long lines, and unhappy endings. J

Q3):   What do you enjoy doing when you’re not writing or taking care of other author business?
Rosalie: Reading is my #1 favorite pastime. There’s nothing like being able to lose yourself in a world that someone else created. Reading at the beach? Even better. Reading at the beach while my son and husband build sandcastles beside me? Now that’s nirvana.

Q4):  If you could spend the day with anyone – alive, dead, fictional, etc – with whom would you want to spend it, and what would you want to do?
Rosalie: Bones from Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress series...and I couldn’t say what I’d like to do without breaking out into a fierce blush. ;-) (But then his lover Cat would probably kill me slowly and very painfully, so...uh, never mind.)

Q5):  If you could describe yourself only using 5 words, what would they be?
Rosalie: Nerdy, shy, (occasionally) fun, happy, and kind.

Q6):  What are the best and worst parts of writing for you?
Rosalie: The best is getting to put to paper the stories floating around in my head. I love it when two characters come together just as explosively as I’d imagined they would. The worst part of writing is how long it takes. Seriously, one book is a many-month investment. That’s tough!

Q7):  Was there any specific inspiration behind the creation of the DEMONS OF INFERNUM series?

Rosalie: The inspiration for the series came to me in a dream I had about a half-demon and a psychometrist, who would come to be Keegan and Brynn. I underwent many incarnations of their story before getting to where I am today, but I’m totally pleased about the way things have turned out. Keegan wouldn’t be nearly the type of hero he is if it weren’t for his brothers, and believe it or not, my initial storyline didn’t include them!

Rosalie: I’d been wanting to write about fallen angels for quite some time, mostly as a counteraction to the Demons of Infernum series. I got the kernel of an idea for the Fallen Warriors one day, and I just went with it.

Q9):  How many books do you have planned for each series?
Rosalie: The Demons of Infernum is a four book series, with an additional novella (Heart of the Incubus) taking place between books 3 and 4. The Fallen Warriors is an open-ended series at this point, but I think it’ll probably be 5 or 6 books long.

Q10):  What can we look forward to as each of the series progresses?
Rosalie: The Demons of Infernum will culminate with a showdown with the series’ big bad that will change not just the brothers’ lives, but the world as they know it. The Fallen Warriors will end with a final battle between the Fallen, who are the champions of man, and the rest of the angel population, who seek to destroy humankind.

Q11):  What were some of the challenges (research, literary, psychological, logistical, etc) in
bringing both the DEMONS OF INFERNUM and THE FALLEN WARRIORS series to life?
Rosalie: The biggest challenge is just getting time to write. I know I’ve got some great fans for each series who are eager to see how it ends, and I wish I could write as quickly as they’d like me to, lol.

Q12):  Do you have a personal favorite book of yours so far, maybe one that had deeper meaning for you when it was written, etc?
Rosalie: My favorite story so far is Mark of the Sylph, Book 2 of the Demons of Infernum series. The chemistry between the main characters Taeg and Maya is out of this world. I’ve always wondered what it would be like to write a follow up story for those two.

Q13):  What’s up next for Rosalie Lario?  What can your fans and readers look forward to in the near future?
Rosalie: I’m putting the finishing touches on a novella which will be featured in a Halloween anthology. It features a witch, a haunted inn, and one very yummy ghost hunter. After that I’ll be working on more stories for the Fallen Warriors series, and penning the final book in the Demons of Infernum series.

Q14):  Is there a question you thought it would be great to be asked in an interview but have never been asked?  How would you answer it?
Rosalie: Do I prefer a blonde or dark-haired hero? (lol) My answer would have been dark-haired until I met the actor who plays Eric Northman on True Blood. Now I say, all of the above. J

Q15):  Would you like to say anything special to your readers while we have you with us today?
Rosalie: I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the support you’ve shown me over this past year. It’s been a wild ride, but hearing from my fans makes all the sleepless nights worthwhile. You guys rock!

LITERAL ADDICTION/Book Monster Reviews:  Thank you so much Rosalie!
It’s been incredible having you with us today.  We hope that we’ve tuned some new readers into your amazing work, and we can’t wait to see what you dish up for us next.  J
Rosalie: Thanks, I had a blast!
