Interview & Contest with Virginia Cavanaugh

Virginia Cavanaugh Interview Intro:

Hello everyone! LITERAL ADDICTION and Book Monster Reviews are happy to welcome Virginia Cavanaugh to our sites today!

Virginia is a multi-published author of erotic romance.  Her work covers many sub-genres as new characters present themselves to her every day.  After working for years as a nurse in pediatrics, her love of the alpha hero sparked her desire to bring her own stories to life.  When not playing house-wife, mother, maid, laundress, taxi driver, or just general all around slave, she enjoys finding a quiet corner to read or work on her next story.

Virginia is the proud creator of the ORDER OF NIGHT series as well as three wonderful single titles.

The ORDER OF NIGHT series consists of “Secrets of Night” and “Deceptions of Night”.  Her three single titles are “Winter’s Shadow”, “Seductive Reunion” and “Mixing Business with Pleasure”.

For those of you not yet familiar with Virginia and her work we thought we’d give you the synopses for the books in the ORDER OF NIGHT series and her newest release, “Mixing Business with Pleasure” to peak your interests:

“Secrets of Night”
 ORDER OF NIGHT Book #1:

Secrets Of Night (Order of Night, #1)When the tenuous peace between the Sorceresses, Vampires, and Shape-Shifters is shattered, Kierra, Sorceress Senator for the Order of Night takes it into her own hands to discover the reasons why.

As the Vampire member of the Triad for the Order of Night, Kale is no stranger to war, but isn’t eager to battle anew without cause. His investigation into the allegations that the Shape-Shifters are the breakers of the peace treaty are thrown askew when the woman who has haunted his lusty dreams is found doing recon of her own.

As the body count rises and more women disappear, Kierra and Kale race against the clock to uncover the secrets the Shape-Shifters are keeping. Imminent war and forbidden attraction threaten to implode their progress, while Kierra’s secrets may very well tip the scales of power.

“Deceptions of Night”
ORDER OF NIGHT Book #2:

Deceptions Of Night (Order of Night #2)Tempers run hot through the members of the Order of Night as Lex tries to settle in as the new Triad vampire. But when a jaguar attacks him in his bed, his life gets turned upside down, and he discovers a new meaning to keeping your friends close and your enemies closer.

Kill the triad vampire or your brother dies. Shayla grudgingly accepts the assignment. But she soon realizes that success is easier said than done as she lies prone, trapped against the floor and secured by the body of one pissed off sexy leech.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Lex wants answers, and Shayla wants her brother returned alive. They form a shaky truce as they seek out the man who has both. Fierce attraction pushes them closer as mistrust tears them apart. Deception lays in wait around every corner as they struggle to find the mastermind behind the traitors to the Order of Night. As the tension rises, desire begins to burn with an intensity that threatens to consume, leaving them to question whether they can find what they seek with their lives and hearts intact.

“Mixing Business with Pleasure”

Mixing Business with Pleasure

Sonia Brooks has been nursing a crush on co-worker, Evan Fitz, for the last few months. So when their boss pairs them together to create a blowout advertisement package for X-stasy Condoms, she realizes she’s been handed the chance of a lifetime. All she has to do is convince Evan that sampling the product would further their goals—both in the office and out.

They sound great right!?  While you’re adding them to your TBR list, let’s get to the interview to learn some more about Virginia and her books.

******************************************************************

LITERAL ADDICTION/Book Monster Reviews: Hi Virginia, welcome to LITERAL ADDICTION and Book Monster Reviews! Thank you for being with us today.  We’re excited to introduce some new readers to your work.

VIRGINIA: Thank you so much for having me here today.

LITERAL ADDICTION/Book Monster Reviews: We always like to start out by learning more about our guest authors…

Q1): What are 3 things about yourself that we couldn’t find out easily on the Internet?

Winter's ShadowVIRGINIA: The first would be that I am not a morning person. My husband and kids have learned to keep their distance until I’ve had my coffee, LOL.
Second would be that my desk is a mess. But I always argue that there’s organization to my disorganization. No one else may be able to find anything there, but I know where everything is. J
Third, I like to plot out stories on paper. I have three drawers in my room filled with story plots.

Q2): What are 2 things that always make you smile and 2 things that never fail to piss you off?

VIRGINIA: Two things that make me smile are my two yorkies and my family.

Two things that piss me off are automated phone systems and when they get my food order wrong at a drive in.

Q3): Besides reading, what are some things that you enjoy doing when you’re not writing or taking care of other author business?

VIRGINIA: I like going to the movies and knitting.

Q4): Are there any authors and/or titles that you feel inspired you to become the writer you are today?

VIRGINIA: I would have to say that several authors inspired me to write. But Hailey Edwards is the author that pushed me into actually doing something about it.

Q5): If you were to write an autobiography, what do you think it would be titled?

VIRGINIA: Why I’m Addicted to Chocolate

Q6): What was the last great book that you read?

VIRGINIA: The Hunger Games Trilogy. I cried at the end of book three.

Q7): Was there any specific inspiration behind the creation of the ORDER OF NIGHT series?

VIRGINIA: When I came up with the story, it was actually supposed to be just a single title. I knew I wanted to try and write something paranormal, so I sat back and began brain storming. As the pieces started to coming together, I realized that this was a much bigger story than expected.

Q8): How many books do you have planned for the series?

VIRGINIA: At present, I know there will be at least seven in this series. Maybe more.

Q9): What can readers expect as the series progresses?

VIRGINIA: It’s hard to say without giving too much away. But in a sense the characters will be tested, and they will all be trying to adapt to a complete breakdown of their usual government.

Q10): What about the series are you the most proud of so far?

VIRGINIA: The good marks it is receiving from readers. I’m so happy to share something with people and know that they enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. J

Q11):  What were some of the challenges that you encountered while bringing the ORDER OF NIGHT series to life?

VIRGINIA: The biggest challenge was not rushing. I get so excited when writing pieces of this series that I find myself wanting to speed through it, so I can share it that much faster.

Q12):  Can you tell us a little bit more about your next planned release?

VIRGINIA: My next release is a contemp erotic from Ellora’s Cave, titled Seductive Reunion. It has a small romantic suspense element to it, and I am working on a related story to it now. It features a wonderful alpha hero named John Clayton, that attends his high school reunion and ends up hooking up with long time crush Andi Morgan.

Q13):  What else do you have in the works outside of the new release that you can share with your fans (signings, CONs, etc)?

VIRGINIA: I will be attending Romanticon 2012 in Ohio in October. You can find out more about it here http://ecromanticon.com/

Q14):  What question have you always thought it would be great to be asked in an interview but have never been asked, and how would you answer that question?

VIRGINIA: What’s it really like to be a published author? In a few words it is hard work. I never realized just how much work it actually is until I arrived at this stage. You also have to have a thick skin. It’s also an emotional rollercoaster. Lots of highs and lows, but the thrill of the ride is always worth it.

Q15):  Is there anything special you’d like to say to your readers while we have you here today?

VIRGINIA: Thanks so much. For everything. I love getting to share my worlds and inner mind ramblings with all of you.

LITERAL ADDICTION/Book Monster Reviews: Virginia, thank you so much again for being with us today.  We’d love to have you back again in the future if you’re interested.

VIRGINIA: Of course! Anytime. J

I respect anyone who is a morning person! Don't you find it terribly hard to drag yourself out of bed in the morning? Probably doesn't help that I like to read thru the wee hours of the morning =)

thanks for the opportunity to win.
