P.A Lupton Interview Intro:
Hello everyone! LITERAL ADDICTION and Book Monster Reviews are very happy to welcome P.A Lupton to our sites today!
Women love a dangerous man, and what could be more dangerous than a vampire. Vampires embody everything we crave about the stereotypical bad boy. They exude confidence and sensuality. They are exciting, mysterious, and the epitome of masculine perfection – strong, youthful, and indescribably gorgeous. What’s not to love?
Her first novel, “Bound by Blood”, combines her two favorite paranormal legends: witches and vampires – with a little romance thrown into the mix.
For those of you not yet familiar with P.A’s work, we thought we’d tell you a little bit about “Bound by Blood”.

LITERAL ADDICTION/Book Monster Reviews: Hi P.A! We’re very happy to have you here today and to introduce some new readers to your work.
P.A: Thank You. I am really happy to be here.
LITERAL ADDICTION/Book Monster Reviews: We always like to start out by getting to know our guest authors a little bit better.
Q1): Can you tell us 3 things about yourself that we couldn’t find out easily on the Internet?
P.A: I love to play pool. I’ve actually played in a league for over 15 years now. I could listen to Bruno Mars’ Lazy Song over and over. My favorite movie is the Matrix, and my favorite TV series is Dexter. Actually, I am a little bit in love with Dexter.
Q2): If you were told that the world was going to end tomorrow, what would you use your last 24 hours for?
P.A: That’s an easy question. I’d spend it with my husband and two boys.
Q3): What are some of your hobbies and/or things that you enjoy doing when you’re not writing or taking care of other author business?
P.A: I am an obsessive reader and chatter. I spend way too much of my free time chatting on Goodreads.
Q4): What are 3 things that always make you smile?
P.A: My kids, chocolate, and a good book.
Q5): We know this is a tough question, but who are some of your favorite authors, and what are a couple titles in your TBR pile/list right now?
P.A: I could make a list as long as this page but I’ll stick to my top favorites. Jeaniene Frost and the Night Huntress Series is my absolute favorite, by far. I pre-order every one of her books and I usually download them at midnight on the night of their releases—I have been known to start reading and finish her books within a few hours. I love her. In the Paranormal genre, I also enjoy Nalini Singh, J.R Ward, and Kerrelyn Sparks. A new favorite author for me is E.L James. I am a little obsessed with her Fifty Shades Trilogy. And also in contemporary romance I love Loralei James’ Rough Rider Series. I can’t get enough of her steamy cowboy romances (I probably shouldn’t admit to that vice).
On my TBR, of course I’m waiting for the new Black Dagger Brotherhood book, can’t wait for Tohr’s story. Jeaniene Frosts’ new book Once Burned with Vlad. I am also just getting into the Lords of the Underworld series by Gena Showalter, I’ve only read the first so far, but it was really good.
Q6): With Fantasy being such a popular genre these days, what made you choose it, and what about it fascinates you personally?
P.A: I didn’t really choose it fantasy is just what I love. I have since I started reading. Fantasy and Paranormal books are more popular now than ever thanks to Twilight, but I started reading books like Teen Witch when I was about twelve. Then I became obsessed in high school when I read my first Anne Rice novel. I am glad it’s so popular now because it used to be a lot harder for me to find the kind of books I like. Now I have more books than I have time to read. I think what I like about it is that there are no limitations. Anything can happen. A character could die and come back to life, live forever (of course looking young and healthy), and have really kick ass powers. What’s not to like.
Q7): What is a typical writing day like for you? Do you have a routine that you follow? Are there specific things that you have to have with you to get the creative juices flowing, etc?
P.A: I do most of my writing at night when everyone is in bed. It’s quiet and I can think. I’m a night owl and spend most nights writing until about 2 am. I like it, night time is the perfect time for vampires and witches.
Q8): Was there any specific inspiration behind the creation of the GARNER WITCH series?
P.A: It’s not really one specific thing. I wondered about the origins of witches and vampires. I know they’re not real (at least that’s what I convince my husband I believe) but if they were real, where did they come from. I thought about my theory and it started the seed for Bound by Blood. It just sort of grew from there. When you write something, everything you love goes into it. I like murder mysteries sometimes so there is a bit of that in it—with a paranormal twist of course. I like psychics so there’s a bit of that too. I like reading about sexy, dominant, Alpha males so I threw in a bit of those too. It’s like a recipe, you take a dash of a few of your favorite things and mix it up and see what comes out. I always have a basic outline of what I want to have happen, but most of it I write as I go.
Q9): How many books do you have planned for the series?
P.A: I don’t have a set amount planned. I have the second almost completed and the outline for the third. After that I am thinking of spinning off stories in the same world but about some of the secondary characters like Morrison.
Q10): What can we expect as the series progresses?
P.A: I always knew there would be another story after Bound by Blood; there are just too many things that I couldn’t fit into the first. I want to explore Brianna’s and Nathan’s families more in depth. And also delve more into the vampire and witch worlds, and that will tie into another criminal case that pops up.
Q11): Is there anything else in the works outside of the GARNER WITCH series that you can share with us?
P.A: I have completed another first of a series that I have yet to publish. It’s completely different than Bound by Blood, but still paranormal of course. I am still tweaking it a bit before I decide if I want to release it.
Q12): What were the challenges (research, literary, psychological, logistical, etc) in bringing the the GARNER WITCH series to life?
P.A: The biggest, most frustrating challenge came after I finished the book. I have had a very difficult time finding a good editor. I’ve now gone through three different editors but I think I’ve finally found a good one.
Q13): What about “Bound by Blood” are you the most proud of?
P.A: I just found out that Bound by Blood was nominated as the reviewer’s choice for best read of 2011 at the Paranormal Romance Guild. I was pretty excited about that.
Q14): Is there a question you thought it would be great to be asked in an interview but have never been asked? How would you answer that question?
P.A: Actually, I think I’ve been asked more than I ever expected in interviews. I can’t think of anything else.
Q15): Is there anything special you would to say to your readers while we have you here today?
P.A: I’d really like to say thank you for all of the support I’ve received from my readers. I had no idea what to expect when I published the book and I have been thrilled with the response.
