Hello everyone!  Book Monster Reviews and LITERAL ADDICTION are VERY honored and excited to welcome Christine Feehan to our sites today!
Hello everyone!  Book Monster Reviews and LITERAL ADDICTION are VERY honored and excited to welcome Christine Feehan to our sites today!
#1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan has over 40 novels published, including five series.  Each of her series has hit #1 on the NY Times Bestsellers List, and she has made numerous other bestseller lists as well, including Publishers Weekly, USA Today, Bookscan, B. Daltons, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Waldenbooks, Ingrams, Borders, Rhapsody Book Club, Washington Post, and Walmart.

Her debut novel, "Dark Prince", received 3 of the 9 Paranormal Excellence Awards in Romantic Literature for 1999, and since then, she has been published by Leisure Books, Pocket Books, and is currently writing for Berkley/Jove -- earning herself 7 more PEARL awards, as well as a nomination for the RWA's RITA award, a Career Achievement Award from Romantinc Times and the Borders 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award.

In October of 2007, Christine's first manga comic, "Dark Hunger" was released in stores.  This was the first ever manga comic released by Berkley Publishing and it made #11 on Publisher’s Weekly Bestseller’s List.

Her ground-breaking book trailer commercials have been shown on TV and in the movie theaters, and she herself has been featured on local TV -- appearing on the The Montel Williams Show -- and her book "Dark Legend" was featured on the cover of Romantic Times Magazine.

Christine is the author of the incredible DARK, LEOPARD, DRAKE SISTERS, GHOST WALKERS and SISTERS OF THE HEART series.  Her newest book "Dark Predator", the 22nd book in the DARK series, was released today.  Let's take a look and see what the newest book is all about…..

"Dark Predator" synopsis -
As brutal as the undead he hunted, Zacarias De La Cruz was a master executioner. Over the long, dark centuries, he plunged into so many battles they blurred into an endless lifetime of evil that hardened the soul of this merciless, ruthless and implacable dark predator.
Now his stark and savage journey is over. After a thousand years in a gray world, he has accomplished everything he set out to do. His brothers are safeguarded. Each has found a woman who completes them. And they are at peace. For his brothers, Zacarias has walked the edge of madness, but with centuries as a killing machine now left to the past and without a hunt to define him, Zacarias wonders, for the first time in his life, who he really is.
The answer awaits him back home in Peru , in the betrayal of a woman who is readying her trap, in the vengeance of an old enemy, in the inevitable consequences of a bloody family legacy, and in the deliverance of a lifemate he never could have imagined.
Excited?  We know we are!  So, let’s help Christine celebrate her newest release and get to know about her and the books a little bit better.

Book Monster Reviews/LITERAL ADDICTION:  Hi Christine!  HAPPY RELEASE DAY!!   We are HUGE fans of yours and we’re so honored to have you with us today!
Christine: Thank you for having me for this interview.  I am really excited about the release of Dark Predator.  It is an unusual book in the Carpathian world.
Book Monster Reviews/LITERAL ADDICTION:  We like to start out by getting to know our guest author a bit more, and then we’ll dig into the books.
Q1): Can you tell us 3 things about yourself that we can't find out on the internet?
Christine:  I think everything is out on the internet now.  LOL.  I use to play the guitar and sing to the kids.  I have murals painted on various walls of my house because I love artwork.  I love gardens and keep adding to my already extensive gardens, driving my poor husband crazy.
Q2):  What are 3 things that never fail to make you smile and 3 things that never fail to piss you off?
Christine: Three things that make me smile are my granddaughter Skyler, my granddaughter Shylah and my pups.
Three things that make me upset are lying, rudeness, and anyone attacking one of my children.
Q3):   What are some of your favorite hobbies or things to do when you are not busy writing?
Christine: Reading and walking on the beach.
Q4):  Do you like to cook?   If so, what’s your favorite dish to make?
Christine: I use to love to cook.  My favorite thing to make was beef stroganoff.  Now I don’t cook at all.  My husband does the cooking.  He makes the best lasagna and is a way better cook than I ever was.

Q5):  What personal dreams have been realized as a result of you writing?
Christine:  Writing allows me to be with my family.  I get to share my books with others.
Q6):  Did anyone or anything specific inspire you to become an author?
Christine: I think I was born to write.  I wrote as soon as I could.  Always, always as far back as I can remember I told stories.  I have written every day of my life that I could hold a pen but I became a published author later in life.
Q7):  If you could have 1 superpower, what would you want it to be and why?
Christine: I would love to fly.
Q8):  What is one thing you must have with you to begin your daily writing process?
Christine: I need my pups, my glasses and tea.
Q9): What are some of your favorite television shows and movies?
Christine: Some of my favorite television shows are Bones, Criminal Minds, and Castle.  Some of my favorite movies are Pride and Prejudice (the A&E version), Jeeves and Wooster, Open Range, and Last of the Mohicans.
Q10):  What are the best and hardest parts of writing for you?
Christine: The best part is when I am in the zone and the book unfolds completely on its own it is almost like watching a movie.  The hardest part is having a deadline and when I have to eke out every word.
Q11):  For those who have not read the DARK series yet, can you please tell us what the series is about?
Christine: The series is essentially about a man who must find the one woman who will complete him.  She restores color and emotion and stops him from becoming a vampire.
Q12):  The DARK series is one of the most popular and longest series in the paranormal romance genre, with "Dark Predator" being the 22nd book in the series.  How many books do you have planned for the DARK series and what's coming up next in the series?
Christine: I have no idea.  I have at least 9 more planned in my head but it doesn’t mean I will end the series there.  As long as there is an interesting romance that I want to write it will continue.
Q13):  If you could spend the day with any one of your characters from the DARK series, who would you pick and what would you do?
Christine: Female- It would be Ivory.  She has so much faith and courage.  I would have so much to learn from talking with her.
Male- Zacarias because he was so unexpected.  And let’s face it, he is HOT!  LOL!
Q14):  What do you feel is the most important trait for a hero or heroine to have?
Christine: Loyalty, courage and honor.
Q15): You give us so much information about the Carpathians (ex. language, healing quilts, etc.). Where do you get your information and ideas for the DARK series?
Christine: It comes from my imagination and A LOT of research.  I mix both fantasy and reality into my books.
Q16):  If you could leave readers with one legacy, what would you want it to be?
Christine: Learning tolerance for other societies, people and beliefs.  To value family.
Q17):  If you could sum up your life to date in 1 word, what would it be?
Christine: Blessed.

Q18): What question have you always wanted to be asked in an interview but have never been asked, and how would you answer that question?
Christine: I do so much research for my books.  I wish people would notice the fun news stories the strange occurrences that are weaved into the books.  I would love questions about that as I love the research and learning about so many things.  I find it intriguing and look for it in other books.
Q19):  What’s up next for Christine Feehan?  What are some of your upcoming projects?
Christine: I am really excited as Avon has given me the opportunity to rewrite/add to Dark Descent. It was my shortest story.  I am really enjoying it.  I will be working on a Ghostwalker book next and I have great plans for that book.
Q20):  Is there anything specific you would like to say to your readers while we have you here today?
Christine: I would like to take this opportunity to thank my readers who have supported me over the years.  I would love to invite my readers to my community where I try to visit and answer questions daily.  You can find more information on my website at www.christinefeehan.com  I would also like to invite my readers to join me at my FAN convention.  It is a fun filled weekend where I actually get time to visit with my readers.  You can find more information about FAN at www.fanconvention.net and I hope to see all of you soon!
Book Monster Reviews/LITERAL ADDICTION:  Thank you so much Christine for taking the time out of your busy schedule to sit down and talk to us.  We would love to have you on Book Monster and LITERAL ADDICTION again in the future. J

I loved the interview. I have several--about 10 of Christine's books in the Dark series and the Leopard series. I don't have them in order though and I'm a stickler for reading them in order. So I'm waiting for a couple to come before I begin reading. I'm really pumped though. Thanks for the interview and the multitude of books to read.
